Seminal Capital Partners' principals each have 25+ years of experience working exclusively in the software and services space.  As experienced technology entrepreneurs and investors, we understand the unique challenges of scaling a growing software business. The firm's principals have managed or helped build over 20 cloud-based software or services businesses to $30+ million of revenue, with a number over $100 million in revenue. We pride ourselves on our ability to align ourselves with management teams and take a long-term approach to value creation.

Buck is a long-time entrepreneur and investor in cloud-based software and services businesses. Before co-founding Seminal Capital Partners, Buck was the co-founder, CEO and Chairman of Actua, previously Internet Capital Group, a pioneer in B2B SaaS investing. Before founding Actua, Buck was VP of Acquisitions for Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE). In 2000, Buck was included in Business Week’s “eBiz 25,” listing of the 25 most influential people in the e-business and honored as Price Waterhouse's “Entrepreneur of the Year.” Buck is Lead Director of the GSO/FS Investment Group and serves on the Board of the Vetri Foundation.

Walter Buckley

Vince has 25+ years of operating and investing experience in cloud-based software and services businesses. Before co-founding Seminal Capital Partners, Vince was a Managing Director at Actua, overseeing acquisitions, providing strategic, operational and financial guidance to Actua’s partner companies and evaluating new acquisition opportunities, including VelocityEHS and GovDelivery. Vince is also co-founder of Trestle Ventures, an early-stage venture fund. Prior to joining Actua, Vince spent nine years with Arthur Andersen LLP and Coopers & Lybrand LLP. In these roles, Vince provided management consulting services, including financial analysis, market research, merger and acquisition transaction support, due diligence and business valuation across a broad range of industries. In addition, he worked with clients on numerous venture capital investments, acquisitions, initial public offerings, and company sales.

John has 25+ years of entrepreneurial and investing experience in cloud-based software and services businesses. Before co-founding Seminal Capital Partners, John was a Managing Director at Actua, overseeing acquisitions and providing strategic, operational and financial guidance to Actua’s partner companies, including VelocityEHS and GovDelivery. Before Actua, John was the Managing Director and Executive Vice President in charge of technology investments at Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE). Before Safeguard, John co-founded Gestalt, which provided software solutions for government and energy customers and was acquired by Accenture (NYSE: ACN). John also served as Senior Vice President of Breakaway Solutions (NASDAQ: BWAY), as co-owner and CTO of WPL Laboratories, an Inc. 500 company, and was an executive at PECO Energy and GE.

At Seminal Capital Partners, Kyle is responsible for sourcing, due diligence, and executing investments, as well as ongoing portfolio management. Kyle joined Seminal Capital Partners from Actua, where he focused on investments in B2B SaaS businesses. Previously, Kyle worked in the corporate development group at Oath, where he evaluated and executed acquisitions and divestitures. Kyle’s transaction experience includes companies across a variety of technology verticals, including digital media, consumer software and business software.

Brian has 30+ years of regulatory experience as an investment management lawyer and compliance professional including senior roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, in private law practice at two national law firms, and in-house as general counsel and chief compliance officer of Turner Investments. He has also served as the chief compliance officer of a family of mutual funds for more than a decade, director of an offshore UCITS fund family based in Dublin, Ireland, and in other senior executive roles. Brian began his career in 1986. Brian received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Hamilton College, and his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was a Member and Articles Editor of the Law Review. Brian is the author of a number of articles in the investment management and securities law areas, including articles in The Investment Lawyer and Board I.Q. Brian is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association (in-house license).

Suzanne has 20+ years of experience in accounting, auditing and financial reporting in both public and private companies. Suzanne has spent the last fifteen years as Controller to several emerging growth companies assisting in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, Board presentations, bank filings and has participated in helping companies acquire funding. Prior to that, Suzanne was a Senior Accountant in the Emerging Growth Practice at Arthur Andersen, where she performed audits and assisted in the financial reporting process for both public and privately held small to mid-sized companies. Suzanne participated in the preparation of documents to be filed in connection with several mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and initial public offerings. Suzanne holds a B.S. in Accounting from LaSalle University and is a CPA.

Chris has 30+ years of financial and operating experience in large and small private and public companies, including the last twelve years at two private equity fund management companies where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. These two fund families included ten investment funds with original capital commitments in excess of $1.7 billion. Earlier in his career, Chris was the Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative & Financial Officer of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE) where he worked with Buck and John. At Seminal Capital Partners, Chris will be responsible for fund administration and accounting, investor reporting, annual tax compliance and financial statement audits and will coordinate portfolio company valuations with the Management Team. In addition, Chris will work with the deal teams on diligence and structuring of new investments, oversight of portfolio companies and disposition of fund investments. Chris earned his BBA, in accounting, and his MBA from Temple University and was a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania.

As CEO of Campus Apartments, David J. Adelman is one of the nation’s leading experts on university-affiliated real estate development. Under his leadership, Campus Apartments has grown into one of the nation’s largest providers of on- and off-campus student housing with more than $2 billion in assets under management across 24 states. David is an active private investor and entrepreneur, co-founding and serving as Vice-Chairman of FS Investments (formerly known as Franklin Square Capital Partners), a leading manager of alternative investment funds. He serves as Lead Director of Wheels Up and on the boards and lead investor of several technology and software companies. He is very active in the community, Penn Medicine Board of Trustees; Board of Councilors of the USC Shoah Foundation-The Institute for Visual History and Education; Vice Chair of University City District Board of Directors; and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). David is also a past recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award.

Bill is a Senior Advisor to Seminal Capital Partners, focusing on the development of the investor relations program and strategy, including Marketing and PR, as well as other organizational development matters. Bill has over 20 years of private equity experience, with expertise in areas including investor relations, fundraising, and investment. Bill has an established track record of helping to build and scale world-class alternative investment management businesses. Prior to joining Seminal, Bill held senior roles at firms including Lubert-Adler Real Estate, LLR, Apollo Global Management, Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners, Credit Suisse, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. Bill holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from The Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University.
